Pitch Workshop Final Day

Hello all you beautiful guys and dolls! Today is the day! It's the final day of the workshop here on my blog. The good news is Jessica Schmeidler a.k.a. The Write Shadow and host of #JustPitchIt pitch party, will be finishing the workshop over on her AMAZING blog! Trust me guys, she offers great feedback and you'll be so happy to have her input and advice. She's the bomb with this!

After much discussion with Jessica S, she decided it would be better for her if the workshop was moved over to her blog. It's been difficult for her to visit my blog. Her schedule is out the roof crazy, in a good way, and she feels it would be easier for her if the pitches were on her blog with easier access for her.

It's been fun this week, hasn't it? I've enjoyed having yo all on my blog and I hope the tips I offered this week helped you hone your ideas and tighten your ideas for what to include in a Twitter pitch. Stories are always three dimensional and it's really hard to whittle them down to a sparse 140 character description. Knowing what to include and how to say it is crucial for a successful Twitter pitch!

Thank you all for participating. If you would like your graphic/bookmark I created for prizes, please email at

ink in the book at g mail dot com (no spaces)

Feel free to use these graphics on your blog/website, as in email signature, or printed as a business card or bookmark, or any other type of author swag you'd like. I just need the title of your book and your author name, if you want that included on the graphic.

See you later, guys!!

Operation Agent Ink

UPDATE: PLEASE FILL OUT THIS QUESTIONNAIRE AFTER YOU SIGN UP. Have you ever wondered what agents were dying to find in their inbox/slush pile? There have been many times I entered a contest and not even received a comment, not even from one of the agents. Or maybe the agent was kind enough to leave a comment that simply said, "Sorry, this just isn't what I'm looking for, but I love the premise and your voice." I always walk away feeling unsatisfied. If I had known exactly what the agent wanted beyond, "YA" or "Fantasy" I might not have even entered a contest I knew I wouldn't win! Even more, I wasted a very busy agents time! Well, your time of guessing is up! OPERATION AGENT INK to the rescue! That's right! This workshop will help aspiring authors get on the list of an agent's WISH LIST! When the workshop is over, your manuscript will be ready to view by a group of AMAZING agents who are dying to see what you've wri...

Blog Hop: HANGERS!!

For today's endings, I have the first five last lines of each chapter. Sad to say, with my computer still MIA I haven't been able to do any writing. I miss MY MacBook! I did get a  new, gorgeous baby that started out as a loan while mine was being repaired. But we have decided to keep it. It is super nice, but ALL my *stuff* is on my old computer and I miss my *stuff*. IF that even makes sense... Are you ready for my hangers? I hope you like them:) ********** Chapter 1: For all it's worth I am so in trouble. Chapter 2: Not only is it pouring down rain, it is pitch dark and  I have no idea where I am. Chapter 3: Before I had a chance to explain, total mayhem flew through the door. Chapter 4: Sure he's smart and funny and absolutely gorgeous but that doesn't matter because he can never be mine. Chapter 5: Vanity waltzed into the room decked out like she was going to the ball. ********** That's it for now. All I need now is your comments! Thanks s...

The Writers Voice Entry

How excited am I? Can't you hear me laughing and squeeing, right there where you are? Yep! I'm excited! I made it tot he first round of the Writers Voice!! So today, I've posted my entry, here int his blog post, for the coaches to come around and read and decide if I'm ready to move on to the next round. Keep your fingers crossed for me PLEASE:) The entry I'm posting as went through numerous rounds of edits and revisions to get it where it is already. I've cut, squeezed, rearranged and replaced so much, I think my brain is on fire! I've changed names, combined characters, cut characters, and I've changed titles a couple of times and agonized over my genre until I cried . I've put th e first three chapters through a couple of workshops and had feedback from a few agents, so I'm sure I 've got the results I wanted. (I can be honest, can't I?) So, here we go, you beautiful guys and dolls. Feel free to leave any comments that might ...
